Remake / SINOPSIS: Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts) es una actriz de vodevil que se queda sin trabajo durante la Gran Depresión en Nueva York. Su suerte cambia cuando conoce a Carl Denham (Jack Black), un empresario, cuentista, aventurero y cineasta que lucha para abrirse camino en el mundo del espectáculo. Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody) es un autor de teatro neoyorquino convertido en el héroe improbable de una aventura romántica en la que deberá demostrar su valor y bondad. Todos se embarcan en la expedición que les llevará a una remota isla para el rodaje de la película que Denham va a dirigir. Allí descubren un ser increíble, un gorila gigante conocido como King Kong, que habita en una frondosa selva donde criaturas prehistóricas han vivido protegidas y ocultas durante millones de años. Denham, con un apetito insaciable de grandeza, enseguida ve la fama que puede reportarle la captura del gorila y su exhibición en Nueva York.
